Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities across biopharma development and manufacturing, CDMOs, CGT developers, and academic/clinical development and manufacturing centres.
- Maintain and expand relationships with key accounts, including technical, procurement, and executive stakeholders.
- Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM tools and data-driven forecasting.
- Conduct consultative sales discussions to understand customer workflows, technical challenges, and unmet needs.
- Coordinate on-site visits, technical demonstrations, and presentations with application specialists or product teams.
- Negotiate commercial terms, generate proposals, and support contract finalisation.
Market & Strategy
- Contribute to growing awareness of SynGenSys in its target markets and with target customers by supporting marketing activities including social media and attendance at relevant events
- Build upon existing insights into potential customers to increase quantity and quality of leads
- Provide market insight to internal teams (product management, marketing, R&D) to inform roadmaps, new product development, marketing channels and messaging
Leadership & Team Development (Progression Path)
- Demonstrate the ability to support and mentor colleagues in customer facing competencies as the business grows.
- Contribute to developing sales playbooks, account strategies, and forecasting processes.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding future team members as the team expands.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven sales success with demonstrable experience in growing new revenue streams within life science markets (ideally with experience in selling to biologics and/or CGT development customers).
- Experience selling technologies or services in the life sciences sector, with knowledge of customers in one or more of the following areas an advantage: Viral vector manufacturing technologies (AAV, LV, LNPs), CDMO services, biologic drug development, CGT development.
- Ability to engage both end-users (R&D, process development) and commercial decision makers (procurement, operations leadership, finance, regulatory) in organisations of widely different maturities, cultures and sizes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage complex accounts with multiple stakeholders.
